2006 Porsche Cayenne (Base) vs. 2010 Volvo XC60 (AWD)?

My wife and I are considering buying a second car. I want something sporty, luxurious, reliable, safe, and with all-wheel drive (AWD). My wife wants something with an automatic transmission that she can haul stuff in.

For a maximum price of about $30 - $35k, I've narrowed it down to the following two cars:
2006 Porsche Cayenne Base (AWD, 3.2L, 6-cylinder engine)
2010 Volvo XC60 3.2, AWD (AWD, 3.2L, 6-cylinder engine)

What are your thoughts about each of these vehicles? Do you have any other recommendations?

Have you looked into the maintenance costs and the insurance costs for these vehicles? More expensive brand may equal more expensive replacements parts and service contracts.

A new Volvo would cost me $400 more per year to insure than the used Porsche. However, the Volvo would come with free maintenance for the first 5 years. I ended up getting a 2006 Porsche Cayenne S (V8). This month I've spent $500 to replace the ignition coils, $1100 for regularly scheduled maintenance @ 60k miles (including changing spark plugs), and $320 to replace a brake sensor and a parking brake strut. (Every Porsche dealership has different service pricing, so you have to call around to get the best rate. Some charge literally twice as much as others.)

So now that you've had this for awhile, are you still loving it as much as when you got it?
